Who runs the service
ocrtomarkdown.com is run by its operator, whom you can reach at [email protected]. The operator’s legal name and the governing law will be added here before paid subscriptions open.
What the service does
It reads a PDF you upload and gives you a Markdown version of its text. The result comes from OCR and layout software, so it can contain mistakes. Check it before you rely on it, especially numbers, names and tables.
Do not use the service as the only check on anything where an error could cause harm.
Your files
You keep ownership of your files and of the notes you make from them. You give us permission to process a file for the conversion you asked for, and for nothing else. The privacy page says what happens to it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload documents you have no right to upload, such as confidential, copyrighted or personal documents that belong to someone else, without their permission.
- Use the service to create, change or imitate documents in order to deceive, including forged or falsified documents.
- Upload anything unlawful or harmful, including malware.
- Get around the free limits, for example by scripted use, or overload the service.
- Probe, break or reverse-engineer the service, or resell it without our agreement.
We may block use that breaks these rules.
Free and Pro
Free gives you 3 files a day, up to 10 pages each, with no account. Pro costs $6 a month and gives you 150 files a month, files up to 150 pages, counted in pages on a page code that renews with each payment and never expires. Converting up to 12 files at once is planned for Pro and is not available yet.
We may change the limits and the price. If the price of Pro goes up, the new price starts at your next renewal after we tell you.
Subscriptions
Pro is a monthly subscription. Payments are handled by a payment provider that is named at checkout. To cancel, email [email protected]. Cancel before your next renewal date to avoid the next payment. If something went wrong with a payment, write to the same address and we will look at it.
No warranty, and limits on what we owe you
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by a mistake in a conversion or by downtime. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will change the date at the top. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
